Missions
The Bible says in Matthew 28:19-20,
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
At New Hope we understand that Gods heart is for missions. God wants every person to be able to know him and about his love expressed through Jesus Christ, and God invites every Christian to join with him in this cause.
At New Hope our church was birthed out of mission in the inner city of Harrisburg and therefore mission is a strong part of our DNA. We believe every person in our church has been called and gifted by God to be engaging in mission, and we have a strong heart to see all nations reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore as a church we engage in mission in our community and through our lives at work and school. We also participate in short-term international mission trips and support those among us who feel called to serve God longer-term in other places.
Persons from New Hope have served in international mission in Nepal, Morocco, Mexico, Israel, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Romania, Kenya, Ecuador, and many other nations. We desire that all people who have never had an opportunity to hear about Jesus be able to hear about him for the first time.
Our short-term and long-term mission efforts are primarily partnered with Eastern Mennonite Missions, the mission agency of the network of churches we belong to.
