Our history

In 1998, three staff members from the Harrisburg Discipleship Center (333 S.13th Street) began meeting weekly with a neighboring family for a small group Bible study and time of fellowship. Others were invited to join and the group grew. In addition, alumni from the trainings at the discipleship center began moving into the city to work and go to school. Many of these young people joined the Bible study and served in other outreaches such as Kid’s Club.

By 2000, the small group had grown and a second group was started. In February 2000, the two groups joined together for the first Sunday morning worship service. Twenty two people met at the Harrisburg Discipleship Center for that first service. The church met there for 3 months before moving the Sunday morning service to the Fellowship Hall of the Bilingual Christian Church at 13th and Derry Streets. In January 2005, the church began holding its Sunday services at Lincoln School, 1601 State Street.
